Erie Otters Change Uniforms

The Ontario Hockey League’s Erie Otters are making a change to their uniforms, promoting their alternate yellow jersey of the past several years to full-time status and creating a white version to match.

Created as an alternate uniform for the 2013-14 season, the yellow look was apparently a popular one locally, compared to that of the old 1980s Erie Blades of the American Hockey League.

It’s a departure from what the team has always worn as a full-time set, since their relocation to Pennsylvania from Niagara Falls in 1996 the Otters have always worn a predominantly blue, red, and yellow uniform with their logo featuring a cartoon otter wearing a helmet and holding a stick on the chest. Neither red nor the otter will be worn on the new jersey.

Despite their complete absence from the uniform, the Otters appear to still be using the primary logo officially, it’s still used as the main logo graphic on their website.
