The Florida International football program on Wednesday evening unveiled new “Miami Vice” alternate uniforms, which will be worn on Oct. 11 against UTEP (7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2).

The Panthers’ all-black uniforms feature pink numbers outlined in light blue below a block FIU wordmark, as well as palm trees and the Miami skyline on the sleeves that transition from pink to light blue.

The same graphic can be seen down the sides of the pants, which also include a light blue version of their secondary panther head logo on the right hip, opposite of a light blue adidas mark.

The uniforms are complete with a black helmet with “305” decals on both sides as a nod to Miami’s area code, though the aforementioned panther head logo replaces the “0.”

This will mark the second time in as many years that the Panthers have paid tribute to the 1980s television series, as they wore the same decal on the right side of their standard navy blue helmets last season.

The field at FIU Stadium was also painted with the light blue panther head at midfield, black end zones featuring a script wordmark that pays homage to the sign on the original Miami Arena and pink or blue out-of-bounds areas.

The Vice-inspired field design will likely return this fall, as well, as the Panthers were the only team in the country to have a different field design for every home game last season.
