The Florida football program announced earlier this week it will wear throwback uniforms for Saturday’s Homecoming game against Vanderbilt, which kicks off at 12 p.m. ET on SEC Network.
The Gators wore these same blue jerseys with white and orange UCLA stripes on the shoulders in each of their last two Homecoming games as a nod to the 1960s, but paired it with a white helmet against Auburn in 2019 and a blue helmet against Missouri in 2020.
Both of those helmets featured a Block “F” enclosed within a circle on the sides and stripes down the center, whereas this year’s helmet is orange with no stripe and includes an interlocking “UF” on the sides, just like the program wore from 1969-78.
The pants remain the same as the last two seasons, as well, with orange and blue stripes down the side. That said, the difference in helmets aside, Florida is 2-0 in these throwback uniforms.
