The Quebec Capitales of baseball’s independent Can-Am League are no stranger to bringing ice to the ballpark.
Once again the Capitales and their opponents will don jerseys paying tribute to their respective local hockey teams — for 2016 the Capitales will wear uniforms based off of the Quebec Remparts of the QMJHL while their opponents, the Ottawa Champions will wear the OHL’s Ottawa 67s. The game will be played tonight in Quebec City.
And yes, Ottawa’s jersey awesomely recreates the 67s famous barberpole look, a tribute to (among others) the original Ottawa Senators NHL team of the 1920s.
Previously the Capitales had worn Nordiques style jerseys against the St Paul Saints wearing Minnesota North Stars inspired jerseys in 2014, the Capitales also wore Nordiques jerseys in 2013.
