There will be another star in the LA Galaxy come the start of the 2026 Major League Soccer season.
The Galaxy announced last month that they would add a sixth star above their crest on their 2026 jerseys to mark their MLS Cup championship in 2024. Their new adidas primary jerseys should be released in the next couple of weeks.
The Galaxy’s 2025 kits also featured six stars, but one had to sit above the others due to jersey production timelines. The 2026 kits “will feature three stars on each side above the crest, with all stars appearing in silver and equal in size to create a unified and modern look,” according to a club press release.
Retail authentic 2025 jerseys had the stars above the crest, while replica versions did not.

“The six stars represent more than championships, they represent a legacy of leadership, resilience, and a relentless pursuit of greatness. This new formation is a visual statement of who we are, with room for who we’re becoming.”
— Tom Braun, President and Chief Operating Officer, LA Galaxy
With six MLS Cups in 10 total appearances in the championship final, LA Galaxy are the league’s most successful club. They also won the league title in 2002, 2005, 2011, 2012 and 2014. D.C. United has the second-most championships, with four (1996, 1997, 1999 and 2004).
The Galaxy have been wearing stars above their crest to mark league titles on and off since 2003. From 2016 to 2018, the Galaxy wore a single gold star above their crest to signify their five MLS Cup victories. In 2019, they added four silver stars back in, marking each title individually.
“Each star represents an incredible journey in our club’s history,” then-team president Chris Klein told MLSSoccer.com. “They represent a series of accomplishments that no other Major League Soccer team has replicated. Our jersey will showcase what we’ve achieved on the field and in the city of Los Angeles.”

The Galaxy open their 2026 MLS regular season on Sunday, February 22, when they host New York City FC at Dignity Health Sports Park. On either side of that match, they’ll play the two legs of their CONCACAF Champions Cup first-round tie against Sporting San Miguelito from Panama.
