The Phillies single-A affiliate in Lakewood New Jersey will take advantage of an opportunity too good to pass up in 2020: They’ll swap out their blue for white and play as the White Claws for six games this season. The name, of course, is a reference to the suddenly wildly popular hard seltzer brand, White Claw, which was in such high demand that there was a nationwide shortage in 2019.

With White Claw in the news, some fans took to Twitter to suggest the idea of a White Claw theme night. The screen grab above is from the team’s ticket page, with the caption, “We listened to you!”

It will be truly possible to have a Clawsome day at the ballpark with drink specials on classic* (since 2016) flavors like Black Cherry, Ruby Grapefruit, Natural Lime, Raspberry, Mango, and the hard, unflavored stuff, Pure Hard Seltzer.
The first White Claw Wednesday will actually be a Friday, “White Claw Kickoff Night” May 29, with five actual Wednesdays to follow: June 10, July 1, July 8, August 5, and August 26.
