The Vancouver Canucks will be making a few tweaks to their home and road uniforms for the upcoming 2019-20 season; tonight we’ve got our first look at those changes thanks to a leaked photo posted to Reddit.
Via what appears to be a spec graphic for a banner, the image shows a slightly different Vancouver Canucks home blue jersey than we’ve seen in the past. The “VANCOUVER” text that arched over the main orca whale logo that has been there for 13 years is gone, the whale remains. There is also a colour change to the retro Canucks logo on each shoulder.
SportsLogos.Net can confirm this uniform change is legit, we can also confirm the team’s road white uniform will make the same changes seen on the blues.
Using the leaked photo I mocked up what the new uniform appears to be using their current uniform graphic from our Canucks logo and uniform history page:
The change comes as the Canucks are getting set to celebrate their 50th anniversary season, we already know the team will be bringing back their “flying skate” uniform from the late 1990s as an occasional throwback look, they have also revealed a 50th anniversary logo.
