Leaked Photos Show New LAFC Home Kit Featuring Art Deco Pattern

Photos surfaced online this weekend that appear to show the new 2022 home kit for Major League Soccer side Los Angeles Football Club, which draw on their home city’s history and art deco architecture.

The clearest of the photos was posted first to Reddit’s LAFC subreddit, then crossposted to the MLS subreddit, on Saturday evening. It shows a black jersey with a tonal art deco pattern covering the front and sleeves. The club crest is centered on the chest, below a gold Adidas logo.

The trim on the crew neck collar and the sleeve cuffs is gold, as are the sponsor logo on the front of the shirt and the Adidas stripes on the shoulders.

From the tag on the lower right corner of the jersey, this appears to be an authentic, on-field version of the LAFC kit. Replica versions may have not have all the same details.

Inside the collar, the tape reads “SHOULDER TO SHOULDER,” a slogan that also appears in the same spot on the club’s gold away kit, unveiled last year.

The photo posted to Reddit Saturday matches up with another photo from behind the scenes of a video shoot that was posted to the SportsLogos.net forums by user upperV03 on Friday evening. A player can be seen in a monitor wearing a kit that has similar details on the front despite being out of focus.

This photo also shows a name and number on the back printed in gold, as well as a gold sleeve sponsor logo and black shorts with gold accents.

The art deco pattern can also be seen in a photo posted to Twitter by NFL Mexico Friday afternoon. The bottom of the new kit appears to be poking out from underneath LAFC player Carlos Vela’s jacket as he is flanked by NFL players Isaac Alcaron and Sammis Reyes.

LAFC have not yet announced an official launch date for the new home kit. But with the 2022 MLS season kicking off on Feb. 26, kit unveilings across the league will be coming thick and fast over the next two weeks.
