Let It Glow! Fireflies Unveil Glowing Caps, Uniforms

The Columbia Fireflies are going to look the part during their inaugural season, at least when the lights are off.

Unveiling their new uniform set this afternoon, the former Savannah Sand Gnats and a New York Mets affiliate in the South Atlantic League, the Fireflies showcased glow-in-the-dark ballcaps. Not a new idea to Minor League Baseball (remember the Casper Ghosts?) but it’s still something that you don’t see too often.

At home is an all blue ball cap with the Fireflies bug logo on it, the trim around the bug glows in the dark. The jersey is white with blue piping, “Fireflies” across the chest. The number font is a custom look.

Road sees a grey vest (throwback to 2002?) with a blue undershirt, COLUMBIA across the chest. The cap is blue with a grey bill.

The alternate jersey is neon green, like a firefly, with the team script across the front. Cap is blue with the secondary “FF” logo. A closer look at some of the new caps below:
