London is still considered a candidate for NFL expansion or relocation

There’s already been plenty of relocation/expansion talk around the NFL as of late, both tangible (Los Angeles) and speculative (Las Vegas and other cities), but one city that continues to still linger on in discussions is the Capital of the United Kingdom: London.

According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, London continues to be a prime candidate for becoming the next NFL city, and it’s gotten to the point where the league is trying to come up with contingency plans for the possibility of a team from the western side of the United States having to fly all the way to London for a playoff game and vice versa. Add to that the fact that they’re starting to warm teams up to the possibility of a London team being a permanent fixture in the NFL by not guaranteeing teams a bye week following an International Series game at Wembley, and it all seems like the possibility of an NFL team in London is growing more and more likely.

So naturally, the question that’s probably on your mind if you’re reading about relocation rumors on this particular website is what will the team’s logos and uniforms look like if/when a London NFL team comes about? If there’s relocation, do you think that they’ll keep the identity from the previous city and just throw “London” on there like the Rams are doing (until they move to their new stadium, at least)? Do you think that there will be a brand new identity? Or will they bring back an old mainstay from the WLAF/NFL Europe days?

Could the London Monarchs return? Probably not, but it's fun to dream.

Either way, what do you all make of this news? Even though this is still probably a long ways off, are you ready for the NFL to place a team overseas?
