Today’s semifinal matchups between Alabama and Michigan at the Rose Bowl and Texas and Washington at the Sugar Bowl mark the 10th season of the College Football Playoff.

It’s also the final year of the four-team format, which will expand to 12 teams next season, coinciding with conference realignment that will see four teams added to the Big Ten and two to the SEC.

With that, we’ve decided to take a look back at the logos of the first 10 playoffs, which rotated semifinal locations between the Rose and Sugar bowls, Orange and Cotton bowls and Peach and Fiesta bowls.

The College Football Playoff National Championship, meanwhile, has been held at NFL stadiums in Arlington, Glendale, Tampa, Atlanta, Santa Clara, New Orleans, Miami, Indianapolis and Inglewood, with Houston coming on Jan. 8.
