I’ve got some good news, and I’ve got some bad news for fans of the Los Angeles Kings.
Do you want the good news first? Well, of course you do.
The LA Kings have announced they will be bringing back their white Wayne Gretzky-era alternate uniforms for 15 games in 2023-24 — five at home and ten on the road. They’ll be worn seven times on the road before they see the ice in Los Angeles; the home debut will have to wait until December 27th.
Once again, this uniform set will be paired with the metallic silver helmets, which, no, I’m not a fan of, but I know many of you unkempt youngsters out there enjoy it.
Anyway, here’s the full Los Angeles Kings retro uniform schedule for the 23-24 season.

Thanks to the eagle-eyed folks over at Mayor’s Manor, we’ve learned the Kings will be wearing the logo of Mercury Insurance on the upper right corner of their home black sweaters. The club hasn’t announced this yet, so we don’t quite know the details of this — such as if this will be worn across all three of their uniforms or just their home set.
The Kings took to the ice for a pre-season contest against Anaheim last night, wearing a visible black patch over where the ad will go:
They’re clearly covering something.
So… do you want more bad news?
They’re also expected to wear an advertisement for BlueShield of California on their helmets.
