Miami Hurricanes Unveil New “Miami Nights” Alternate Uniform

The Miami football program earlier this week resurrected its all-black “Miami Nights” uniform, though this year’s set features a brand new gradient design on the sleeves and pants instead of a traditional striping pattern.

As mentioned, the sleeves shift from solid orange near the cuffs to green by way of a wave-like pattern. That design can also be seen down both sides of the pants.

The uniforms, which are once again made from repurposed and upcycled materials, featured a custom number font that inspired by the letters that were on the facade of the old Orange Bowl. The font, which also includes the aforementioned wave-like pattern, first made an appearance on last year’s Parley alternate uniform, though they’re orange this time instead of green.

The black helmet remains intact, meanwhile, with a green and orange stripe down the center and the Hurricanes’ iconic “U” logo on both sides.

Miami is 3-2 all-time in all-black uniforms, knocking off Virginia in 2015, Virginia Tech in 2017 and North Carolina in 2018. The two losses, meanwhile, came at the hands of Wisconsin in the 2017 Orange Bowl and at Georgia Tech the following season.

It’s unclear when the Hurricanes – who are 5-1 (4-1 in the Atlantic Coast Conference) this season – will debut their “Miami Nights 2.0″ uniforms, but they only have two home games left: Nov. 21 versus the Yellow Jackets and Dec. 5 against the Tar Heels.
