MiLB announces record sales, top 25 teams in merchandise

Minor League Baseball set another record in overall merchandise sales in 2018, tallying nearly $74 million in total sales from all 160 affiliated teams, up more than four percent from 2017’s then-record $71 million in sales.

While MiLB does not provide rankings of individual teams, it does reveal the top 25 teams in merchandise sales each year. This year’s list includes almost exclusively familiar names. The Gwinnett Stripers were the only new name on the list in 2018, though the franchise had made the list previously, in 2009, their first season as the Gwinnett Braves. The Nashville Sounds are back on the list, this time with new a set of logos. The Charleston RiverDogs, Corpus Christi Hooks, Pawtucket Red Sox, Richmond Flying Squirrels, and San Antonio Missions are back on the list after not making it in 2017.

The Durham Bulls remain the only team to make the list every year since it debuted in 1993. Six other teams have been included on the list every year they have existed: Columbia Fireflies (since 2016), El Paso Chihuahuas (since 2014), Lehigh Valley IronPigs (since 2008), Sacramento River Cats (since 2000), and Trenton Thunder (since 1994).
