Do not look directly at these logos without protective eyewear! Many of the affiliated Minor League Baseball teams along the path of today’s eclipse had or are having promotions to commemorate the rare celestial event. MiLB is calling the series of coordinated events, most of which entail giving away branded viewing glasses or holding watch parties, “Total Eclipse of the Park.”

A handful of the teams went the extra mile and rebranded with eclipse-themed on-field uniforms. Most affiliated Minor League teams are off on Mondays, so we saw those uniforms this weekend.

In Little Rock, Arkansas, the Double-A Arkansas Travelers wore jerseys this weekend that portrayed the team’s logo set against a black circle blocking out the the sun. The team is having a viewing party today, but no game.

In Eastlake, Ohio, the High-A Lake County Captains wore “blackout” jerseys yesterday that they auctioned off after the game. The team sold merchandise featuring their captain character logo wearing eclipse viewing glasses.

The Triple-A Rochester Red Wings rebranded as the Moon Rocs, with an alternate logo that featured their mascot Spikes in an astronaut suit carrying an American flag. The jerseys included a space-age typographic mark that portrayed the sun and moon as the two adjacent O’s in Moon Rocs.

And while Allentown, Pennsylvania, does not find itself along the path of the totality, the Triple-A Lehigh Valley IronPigs donned specialized “Space Pigs” uniforms as the visiting team in Rochester. The Pigs in Space wore alternate jerseys featuring their metalic pig in a space suit, which they wore during a series against the Moon Rocs in Rochester April 5-7.

More than 31 people along the path of the totality will have the opportunity to see the eclipse today, starting just after 11:00am pacific time along Mexico’s Pacific coast, lasting until 5:16pm eastern time as it exits Newfoundland, Canada.
