Missouri Tigers Reveal Norm Stewart-Era Throwback Uniforms

The Missouri men’s basketball team will pay homage to the most successful era in program history by wearing throwback uniforms during Saturday’s game against Iowa State (2 p.m. ET on ESPN2).

The white jerseys feature a gold Block “M” as part of the mostly black “Missouri” wordmark across the chest, as well as black and gold striping pattern around the collar and arm holes.

Those stripes can also be seen on the waistband and bottom of the white shorts, which include a retro Tiger Paw logo on both sides. The look is complete with gold numbers outlined in black and a black nameplate.

Aside from the black Nike Swoosh and SEC logo on the shoulders of the current design, the throwback uniform harkens back to when legendary head coach Norm Stewart was roaming the sidelines in Columbia.

Stewart, who also played for the Tigers from 1953-56, won 634 games at Missouri from 1967-99, leading the program to eight Big Eight regular season titles, six conference tournament championships and 16 NCAA Tournament appearances.
