The Indiana Pacers, Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans Pelicans will be wearing a special patch on the back of their jerseys during tonight’s NBA In-Season Tournament semifinals, which tip off at 5 p.m. ET on ESPN and 9 p.m. ET on TNT.
The circular patch is reminiscent of what is worn during the NBA Finals and features the NBA Cup towering over the league’s iconic logo. It also includes a red and blue stroke around the black circle, further tying in the league’s color scheme.
Teams have worn a similar patch above the nameplate since the 2015 NBA Finals, the same season the league moved its logo from the front of the jersey to the back, paving the way for teams to eventually sell that space to advertisers.
The winners of tonight’s games between the Bucks and Pacers, as well as the Lakers and Pelicans, will face off on Saturday night, with the champion receiving the NBA Cup and a $500,000 bonus for each player. Tip off of that game is set for 8:30 p.m. ET on ABC and ESPN2.
