The New York Giants will wear their “Legacy” throwback uniforms for the first time this season when they host the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday afternoon, with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on CBS.
The uniforms feature navy blue helmets with an underlined “Giants” wordmark on both sides and a white facemask, royal blue jerseys with a classic striping pattern on the collar and cuffs and white pants with red and blue stripes.
New York went 164-146-2 during the uniform’s original 20-year run from 1980-99, including a pair of Super Bowl victories over the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XXI and Buffalo Bills in Super Bowl XXV, as well as four division titles.
The Giants revived the uniforms when the league relaxed its one-helmet rule and are 3-1-1 in the design since, Including a win over the Chicago Bears and tie against the Washington Commanders in 2022, wins over the Commanders and Green Bay Packers in 2023 and a loss to the Commanders in 2024.

That was the only appearance for the “Legacy” uniforms last season, with New York also wearing its “Century Red” throwback uniforms – which celebrated the Giants’ 100th season as a franchise – in a loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
In addition to the uniforms, which will also be worn against the Commanders on Dec. 14, the Giants will once again repaint the turf at MetLife Stadium to display their classic helmet with a two-bar facemask at midfield and a vintage wordmark in the end zones.
The 2022 games featured the NFL logo at midfield and red end zones with the Giants’ helmet flanking a blue “Giants” wordmark, while the last two years had the helmet at midfield and blue end zones with a red “Giants” wordmark after the Giants and New York Jets installed a new turf surface in 2023.
This year’s field is nearly identical to the design used in 2023-24, but the end zones colors are flipped, with a blue “Giants” wordmark against a red background.
