The North Carolina men’s basketball program will introduce a new navy blue alternate uniform into the rotation this season, sources tell SportsLogos.net.
The navy blue uniforms follow the same template as the Tar Heels’ home white and road Carolina blue sets, with an arched wordmark and argyle stripes down the side. It mimics the football team’s navy alternate, with Carolina blue numerals outlined in white.
North Carolina has recently worn gray (or platinum), camouflage and black alternates, as well as numerous throwback uniforms. This will mark the first time more than 80 years that the Tar Heels will wear navy blue, however.
No word on when the new uniforms will make their on-court debut, though North Carolina is notably set to play at Iowa in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge on Dec. 8 and against Ohio State in the CBS Sports Classic on Dec. 19.
