Notre Dame’s Jersey For Shamrock Series Game Against Wisconsin Leaks

In preparation for their Shamrock Series game against Notre Dame on Sept. 25, the Wisconsin Badgers unveiled alternate uniforms last month that pay homage to the more than 70,000 people who received training at the site of Camp Randall Stadium during the American Civil War.

The Fighting Irish have yet to share what they’ll wear, meanwhile, but Hibbett Sports’ website currently shows a retail version of the jersey, which match what a source previously described to SportsLogos.net

The navy blue jersey features white numbers in a block font and a gold, blue and white striping pattern that mimics the Green Bay Packers’ sleeve stripes with Notre Dame’s monograph placed on top, as well as “Graduating Champions” on the back collar.

But why the Packers when they game is taking place at Solider Field, home of Green Bay’s rival, the Chicago Bears?

Well, last year’s game was supposed to take place at Lambeau Field but got cancelled due to the pandemic. Thus, the uniforms they were supposed to wear at that time – and were delivered to the teams last summer – got pushed back one year to their already scheduled game in Chicago, even though Wisconsin is technically the home team for the game.

It’s unclear exactly what Notre Dame’s helmet and pants will look like, but a helmet has since leaked that shows a matte blue design with a chrome gold facemask and chrome gold shamrock on both sides.

The Fighting Irish typically reveal their Shamrock Series uniforms in August, so stay tuned to SportsLogos.net in the coming weeks.
