Ohio State To Wear New White Pants At Illinois

As first reported by SportsLogos.net, the Ohio State football program will wear white pants this Saturday at Illinois (12 p.m. ET on FS1).

The Buckeyes, who officially unveiled the look on Tuesday afternoon, have worn white pants in the past but never with their standard helmets and jerseys.

This specific combination brings to mind the road version of Ohio State’s Nike Rivalry set, which was worn in wins at Michigan and Penn State in 2013 and 2014, respectively. That uniform featured a chrome helmet with reflective Buckeye Leafs and a black facemask and a white jerseys and pants with oversized stripes.

Ohio State last wore white pants in another win at Michigan in 2017, as the Buckeyes donned the road version of their Land of Wolves alternate uniform. That set was completely devoid of scarlet, however.

Ohio State is 22-6 all-time when wearing uniforms that deviate from its standard home and road look. That includes an all-black uniform worn in last season’s win over Michigan State and the 1968 throwback uniforms worn in the 2019 Fiesta Bowl loss to Clemson.
