Ole Miss Rebels To Wear 2000-01 Throwback Uniforms

The Ole Miss men’s basketball program will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their run to the NCAA Sweet 16 in 2001 by wearing throwback uniforms during Saturday’s game against Texas A&M (3:30 p.m ET on SEC Network).

Led by All-American forward Raheim Lockhart and SEC Coach of the Year Rod Barnes, Ole Miss won a school-record 27 games and made the deepest postseason run in program history that season.

The Rebels, who earned a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament, knocked off 14th-seeded Iona in the first round before defeating sixth-seeded Notre Dame in the Round of 32, as guard Jason Harrison sunk a game-winning three-pointer with less than a minute remaining, before falling to eventual national runner-up Arizona in the Sweet 16.

The white throwback uniform Ole Miss will wear on Saturday are an accurate replication of the original set, though the Rebels were outfitted by Wilson instead of Nike at the time. It features a navy blue Ole Miss wordmark outlined in red across the chest, red numbers with a navy blue drop shadow and alternating red and navy blocks down the sides of the jersey and shorts.

The only discernible differences between the original and throwback uniforms are the lack of an “M” on the collar and the Ole Miss logo on the waistband.
