The Oregon football program announced it will wear new alternate uniforms during Saturday’s game at UCLA (3:30 p.m. ET on ABC) that are inspired by the speckled eggs that some ducks lay.
The uniforms follow the same template as the apple green, lighting yellow and road white sets Oregon unveiled this summer, with a stylized wing design on the shoulders and sleeves with markings that are supposed to mimic a group of flying ducks.
What makes this uniform different from the Ducks’ other white road uniform, of course, is the dark green speckle pattern throughout the jersey and pants, as well as the silver shoulder/sleeve design and nightmare green numbers.
That speckle pattern can also be seen on the “O” logo on the back of Oregon’s nightmare green helmets, which were introduced ahead of the 2019 season and feature wings on both sides in a slightly different shade of green.
This marks the seventh different uniform combination for Oregon in seven games this season. The Ducks wore all-white in Week 2 at Ohio State and white helmets, white jerseys and apple green pants at Stanford in Week 5.
