RB Leipzig Unite Music and Football with 2021-22 Third Kit

German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig are uniting football with their home city’s vibrant electro and techno music scene with their third kit for 2021-22.

RB Leipzig unveiled the kit, made by Nike, on Monday, Sept. 13, to go along with their home and away kits for 2021-22. It combines a blue base with grey blocks, teal horizontal lines and pink diagonal lines to create a glitchy digital pattern all over the front and sleeves.

“Leipzig is full of colour, variety and creativity. Leipzig has its own style. Its own sound,” the announcement on the club’s website reads. “We’re celebrating our club and our city. We’re celebrating the enjoyment of sport and culture. We’re celebrating life. Join the hype and be inspired.”

The club also notes that the shirt “incorporates elements of the Leipzig club scenes Distillery, IFZ and Elipamanoke.

“This is a jersey that unites sport, music and culture in Leipzig in a unique and eccentric style.”

The back of the jersey has a solid blue panel for the names and numbers. Pink stripes run down the sides of the jersey. The crew neck collar and sleeve cuffs are solid blue.

The Nike and Red Bull logos on the front appear in white, and the club crest is rendered in blue and white.

Alongside the third kit, RB Leipzig also announced a sponsorship deal with German food brand Veganz, whose logo will appear on the club’s sleeves in UEFA Champions League and DFB-Pokal matches.
