Picture this, the modern Calgary Flames template… back in black.
Thanks to the Stockton Heat, the Flames AHL affiliate, no need to keep this thought in your mind, they’ve done it, and they’ll be wearing it six times between now and the end of the season.
The all black uniform features the logo of the Heat on the chest but, unlike the home and road set, the “S”-Flame is shown without the roundel. The “S” is white with a red and yellow flame over it. The primary Heat logo in-roundel is on one shoulder, the Calgary Flames logo on the other. Collar is red with red lacing, red, yellow, and white striping and piping throughout.
Player names and numbers are in the standard Flames font style but now in white with red and yellow trim.
“These black jerseys provide a fresh and contemporary spin off of our primary ones and continue the rich tradition of sweaters here in Stockton. We’re extremely excited about featuring a black jersey and it represents a bold alternative to our growing collection of popular jerseys here with the Heat.” – Stockton Heat President Dave Piecuch
As mentioned earlier, the uniforms will be worn six times during the remainder of the 2015-16 AHL season, they will make their debut tomorrow against the Bakersfield Condors. They will also be worn February 20th and 21st vs the San Jose Barracuda, March 30th vs the San Diego Gulls, April 6th vs the Ontario Reign, and again against the Gulls on April 10th.
