Tampa Bay Buccaneers Officially Unveil White Road Version Of Creamsicle Throwback Uniforms

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers officially unveiled the white road version of their creamsicle throwback uniforms on Tuesday morning, confirming our report from last month.

“(This) jersey represents a piece of Buccaneers history and serves as a tribute to the generations of fans and players who shaped this franchise,” chief operating officer Brian Ford said. “It is a reminder that every Buccaneers fan, from the originals to the newest generation, is part of an evolving story that started in 1976 and continues being written today.”

The jerseys feature fluorescent orange numbers outlined in red, matching what the Buccaneers – who are celebrating their 50th season this fall – wore during their inaugural season in 1976, as well as fluorescent orange and red stripes on the sleeves/cuffs.

They’ll be paired with the same white helmets and pants that Tampa Bay wears with the home version of its creamsicle throwback uniforms, replicating what the Buccaneers wore in every regular season game that year, as the creamsicle jerseys were limited to the preseason.

This was the only season in which Tampa Bay wore this jersey, as the numbers were flipped to red with a fluorescent orange outline in 1977 and that look remained until the Buccaneers underwent a significant redesign in 1997.

They did not introduce fluorescent orange pants until 1992, which is why they were not included in this year’s throwback design. The look is complete with striped orange socks and a throwback-inspired version of Tampa Bay’s 50th season patch on the left shoulder.

There’s also “Hey! Hey! Tampa Bay!” sewn inside the back collar as a nod to the team’s original fight song, though that wasn’t released until 1979. This detail was not included in the home version of the Buccaneers’ creamsicle jerseys.

Naturally, the patch pulls inspiration from the uniforms, with the No. 50 in the throwback number font and colors above their classic Bucco Bruce logo. The same goes for the patch on the Buccaneers’ red home, white road and home version of their creamsicle throwback uniforms.

Tampa Bay will wear the home version, which includes a fluorescent orange jersey with red and white trim, during its Thursday Night Football matchup with the Atlanta Falcons on Dec. 11. The Buccaneers are 0-2 in the design since it returned in 2023.

The road version, meanwhile, will make its debut during the Buccaneers’ home opener against the New York Jets on Sept. 21, which is also the official celebration of their 50th season. Tampa Bay went winless during the uniform’s original run (0-14).
