Tampa Bay Buccaneers To Unveil New Uniforms On April 7

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Tuesday night announced they’ll unveil their new uniforms on April 7.

This marks the third major rebrand for the Buccaneers since their inception in 1976, including the most recent update in 2014 that resulted in a modernized logo set, oversized helmet decals, the first chrome facemask in the league, a custom number font, contrasting shoulder yoke and the return of orange as a tertiary color to their red and pewter scheme.

Last month, Tampa Bay head coach Bruce Arians shared the news that the new uniforms would resemble what the Buccaneers wore from 1997-2013 — including Super Bowl XXXVII. That was followed up with a report by Uni-Watch’s Paul Lukas, who revealed that set would be accompanied by an all-pewter Color Rush uniform, among other details.

Wideout Chris Godwin and linebackers Lavonte David and Devin White received an early look at the new uniforms on March 25, and appeared to enjoy what they saw.

“These are actually really, really, really clean,” Godwin said.

“I love these,” White said. “I see a trifecta of great uniforms.”

David also added he’s “never seen anything like this before” while pointing at what we can only assume is Tampa Bay’s new pewter jersey.

The Buccaneers won’t be the only team unveiling a new uniform in the coming weeks and months, as the Atlanta Falcons, Cleveland Browns, Los Angeles Chargers and Los Angeles Rams have all confirmed their looming changes. Reports have suggested the Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots will make alterations to their current looks this offseason, as well.
