The Texas Rangers announced on Monday they’ll unveil their City Connect uniforms on April 17, which will make them the second team to reveal the alternate look this season, joining the Atlanta Braves.

Texas plans to wear the new uniforms during every Friday home game, beginning on April 21 against the Oakland Athletics, as well as the following night. That will be the only non-Friday game they’ll be worn in 2023.

Coincidentally, the Rangers played their first home game in Arlington, Texas, on April 21, 1972, after moving from Washington D.C. and rebranding from the Senators.

Four other teams are set to introduce City Connect uniforms this season, including the Seattle Mariners, Cincinnati Reds and Baltimore Orioles in May and the Pittsburgh Pirates in June.

The City Connect series launched in 2021 as a way to celebrate the connection between a city and its ball club. Fifteen teams have unveiled their design so far.
