After years of fan requests, the Ontario Hockey League’s Kingston Frontenacs are bringing back a popular retro logo for a new jersey.
The team announced on Monday, August 11, that the Count Frontenac logo — which they used as a primary logo from 2001 to 2009 — would return on a third jersey for the 2025-26 OHL season. They also released a teaser video on their website and social media channels.

The logo seen in the teaser video is recoloured from the 2001-2009 version, with the coat and collar going from grey to white, the highlights in the hat turning white, and the Count’s face itself going from yellow to more of a Vegas gold. It also appears without the Frontenacs wordmark underneath.

No actual jersey design was included in the video. The Frontenacs say on their website that the full design will be revealed closer to their on-ice debut, which will be on Friday, October 17, when they host the Ottawa 67s. But they do say that the jerseys will be “inspired by the primary uniforms worn by the Frontenacs from 2001 until 2009.”

In 2024-25, the Frontenacs used the Count on warmup jerseys, which they say “received unbelievable feedback from Season Ticket Members, Frontenacs fans and fans from around the rest of the OHL.”

The Frontenacs will wear the new third jersey 10 times over the course of the 2025-26 OHL season, including their annual Teddy Bear Toss game, their New Year’s Eve Bash game and their Family Day game.
