Here is my take on the sleeved jerseys in the NBA, it is all about forward thinking. Sports uniforms reached eras when a foreign concept takes off. Examples include broader shoulders, large and loud logos, long shorts, alternative jerseys, throwbacks that include current color combinations of the team and the color teal. Some stick around for a while (alternatives and long shorts) and some become instinct the way of the thyalcine (Detroit teal jerseys and loud Toronto, Atlanta and Seattle jerseys). We shall see what happens with the sleeved jerseys in the NBA. Enjoy!

Never been a fan of sleeved basketball jerseys. They seem WAY more uncomfortable than the tank tops. The wide sleeved jerseys were bad enough.

Over sensitive flabbyarmed business men and women who are afraid to show their bingo wings but can still brag about wearing the real thing in the stands. You want to drive away the younger, less affluent demographic, David Stern? Force all teams to wear these geriatric pieces of crap manufactured by the demonmeisters from deepest Bavaria (be it in a sweatshop in Manilla or Bangladesh). Player nicknames on the back of these polyester nightmares will be compulsory, as wearing these plus pressed khaki pants and spotless all white sneakers while attending a NBA game. Corporate Middle America's sports dream come true.

Just make these team warm-up jerseys and slap players names on the back. It’s as simple as that. You still get your marketing ensemble that appeals to the overweight/self-conscious demographic you’re trying to reach without making your league look even further foolish.

To hell with this stupid idea!! The whole reason I started watching basketball when I was kid was because they had the cool jerseys with no sleeves. It was something that I could comfortably wear while playing a sport during the summer. Sleeves are NOT a basketball thing.

What is the purpose of the sleeved jersey? Does it provide any practical advantages? Or is it only a marketing strategy? I’d think that players would feel more restricted in sleeved jerseys than tank jerseys, right? That only seems logical.
